SUSTAINABILITY
Small steps make a big difference!Even that small move you make when choosing plant-based options instead of meat while shopping, on your menu, or at the barbecue. Together, we make the world a little greener. So, what are you waiting for?
1. Plant-based products are by default more sustainable
Meat consumption and production account for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, which is more than worldwide transport. Our partner CO2 Logic calculated the footprint and lifecycle of our products. The Greenway burger emits 94% less CO2 and consumes 54% less water compared to meat production. Nice to know!
2. Local sourcing We source all our ingredients as locally as possible. #localveggies!
3. Production and transport
For transportation to our clients and storage of our products, we collaborate with the company Herve.
4. Packaging
We use RPET (recycled PET) as packaging, as it is currently the most sustainable packaging on the market, considering food safety and the environment. Currently, this is 80% RPET/20% PET combined with a cardboard sleeve. It is still a work in progress. Our goal is to transition to 100% RPET.
5. Company culture
Our company culture is based on 4 pillars:
Mission-driven We believe that climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. Our role in addressing this challenge: even enticing true meat lovers with our surprisingly delicious plant-based products.
Trust and transparency Everything (salaries, financial performance, board reports, strategy, etc.) is transparent within our company. We avoid unnecessary rules and procedures within our organization.
Decision-making authority Everyone can make decisions within their role in the company.
Authenticity We have a feedback culture, but not a top-down approach. Twice a year, we conduct group evaluations where everyone evaluates each other. There are no individual bonuses in our company.
